Patti Allen

Patti Allen – aka “Miss Showbusiness” was trained in England (M.R.A.D.) in Ballet, drama,  music and vocal. .She commenced her professional career in England and came to Australia with her mother, at the tender age of sixteen, to join the prestigious Borovansky Ballet Company.

It was just as well her training had extended beyond dance to dramatic art, piano and classical singing because soon after she arrived in Australia the ballet company suspended.

Patti and her Mother were all alone in Australia, suddenly without an income.
However this was not for long.
Patti then travelled to Brisbane to replace Toni Lamond as soubrette with the Theatre Royal.

Next stop was the Tivoli circuit in Sydney and Melbourne.

She went for three months and stayed for three years.

In the ‘60s, Patti became a regular on the televised series of  Theatre Royal and the joined the
Crawford stable.
Patti and her husband Dennis (who met when they were both working in a Crawford production)
and Patti’s daughter from her first marriage, Tracey-Anne Smith Allen,
made the UK and Europe their base during much of the 80’s

Patti returned to the UK in 1980 (See - “Memorable Performances” ),

with her Musical director and husband Dennis Price, she was then contracted for 3 months to appear in

Limassol’s “Le Bois Music Hall”  which is now defunct.

Patti remained in the UK for one year and then returned to Australia in 1988.

Prior to returning to Australia in 1988, their last contracted performance was a lengthy cabaret contract in Cyprus.

Patti has appeared in many Television shows including Soubrette, Theatre Royal Brisbane, Channel 7 Theatre royal, channel 9 Garry Gibson tonight show, Channel 9 Melbourne in the 70’s and appeared in the film Friday 13th as well as appearing in many theatre productions in Australia and England, and completed a season with Dimboola (The Wedding) and Jazz-a-ma-Tazz in Brisbane, as well a season on
