David Bermingham
David first trod the boards at 13 when he worked as a stooge in a magic act. After 3 years he joined the Mercury Theatre in Queensland and got his grounding in repertory.
At nineteen he joined the Elizabethan Theatre Trust as stage manager, he then moved to J C Williamsons.
David then went on to produce his own musical productions at the same time becoming a regular in In Melbourne Tonight.
In the sixties he was assistant stage manager to the Old Vic, when it toured Australia Starring Vivien Leigh in’ The Lady of the Camellia’s’ and Shakespeare's ’ "As You like It".
In 1974 directed Barry Humphries in “Now you can say you saw it".
David then created the Grotto Gaslight Theatre Restaurant in Melbourne co-starring with his wife Coral Kelly for 5 years, then opened Annabel's which ran for 3 years.
He returned to Queensland, and for the next 20 years ran his own Theatre Restaurants, he also starred opposite Brian Tait and Sheila Bradley in Frank Mesh’s "The Living Room".

Many of these productions running concurrently.
During this period David was the largest theatrical employer in Queensland employing over 80 musician’s, performers,stage managers and crew.
He also produced his own Pantomimes as well as co-starring opposite Johnny Ladd, and Theatre Royal’s productions of Red Riding Hood and Aladdin, co-starring Patti Allen and Peter and Johnny Mozelle, he also hosted his own TV Series Good Morning Brisbane, which ran for 3 years.
During these years David has chaired the Queensland Variety Club, and until recently was President of the Actors Benevolent Fund and proudly founded The Hope Fund, for those diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.
David still remains on the Board of Directors.
In 2013, David Bermingham celebrates his Silver Jubilee ~ 60 years in Theatre.
